MOTION CAPTURE

for CINEMA

THE STORY

The Bone Marionette is a tale of freedom and sacrifice, told through the lens of a puppet ballerina who contemplates a life beyond what she has always known.

THE PROCESS

I began with creating the Sets and Characters by piecing barebones 3D elements together to form a cohesive rendering of my planned concept art

This film was created, shot, and edited within the popular gaming program, Unreal Engine.

Once the foundational elements were built, I recorded the original choreography of each character by performing in an industry standard motion capture suit using a studio of sensors

Finally, once all angles of the project were recorded, I pieced together the clips on a timeline and edited the film to music.

With the motion capture data in hand, I set up a variety of in program cameras with varying focal lengths and image profiles to capture the animation from specific angles.
